Abdul-Kareem Olalere had to jump from Mokola Flyover Bridge in Ibadan Oyo State to avoid being robbed by armed hoodlums who were chasing him.
Mr. Olalere, a principal agent at Premier Logo Company, now has his left arm broken, but his money (N300,000) and other personal belongings are intact. He was lucky to survive the risky high fall and not to be hit by the vehicles on the ever-busy Mokola road.
Speaking from his hospital bed, Mr. Olalere explained he had to take the risk or be shot by the armed robbers. He says he noticed he was being followed while riding on a commercial motorcycle. As the driver was too afraid to move faster, they stopped, and Mr. Olalere saw the hoodlums drawing out guns. He had to throw the money down and jumped after it.
The police confirmed the incident, adding the money is safe and kept in custody of the police.

Pipeline explosion: Injured vandals nabbed at healer’s home
Operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Task Force, Anti-Pipeline Vandalism Unit, have arrested two suspected vandals believed to be responsible for last Thursday’s explosion that led to fire outbreak at Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, pipeline in Ilare/Imagbon area of Ikorodu, Lagos, which left some of the vandals dead.
The suspects, identified as Rotanna Ifeanyi and Soji Omomoyesan, were arrested in a herbalist’s home while receiving treatment from the burns sustained in the fire outbreak.
Trouble, as gathered, started for the duo after residents of the community, initially indicted in the pipeline vandalism saga, besieged the herbalist home and attacked the suspects, when they got wind of their presence.
They reportedly tied them up until the arrival of the policemen.
I thought I was dead— suspect
Explaining how the fire was ignited, one of the suspects, Ondo State-born Soji, 40, said it was caused by a lit cigarette.
According to him, “Jide threw the cigarette during an argument over who would first siphon petroleum product from the burst pipeline. Before we knew what was happening, there was an explosion followed by a wild fire.
“We could not escape as we were engulfed by the fire. I do not know the fate of others.
“I thought I was dead until I opened my eyes and found myself at the herbalist’s home. I was told I was dumped there by one of us who managed to escape.
“I was lured into this business because I was jobless. I was informed by a friend that they were going to siphon fuel along that route.
“He said the services of an engineer, boat paddlers and carriers were needed. I opted for boat paddler because I cannot lift two 50-litre jerry cans of petrol at once.
“We got to the place by 2am and immediately the engineers burst a portion for us to siphon, an argument ensued.
“But for the timely arrival of policemen at the herbalist’s place, the community would have finished what the fire could not.
“They tied my hands and legs and were at the verge of setting me ablaze when the policemen arrived.”
‘I was promised N200 per 50-litre jerry can’
Rotanna, 22, said he was lured by his best friend whose name he gave as Tony Olabanji, to join in the shady deal.
He said: “He told me all I needed to do was to assist the vandals and assured me that security men had not visited the area in recent times because they thought vandals were no longer operating there.
“The mission would have been accomplished had the argument not ensued. This was because on getting there, there were so many people; both the old and young, men and women were struggling to have their turn.
“I was to be paid N200 for each filled 50-litre jerry can moved from the point of filling to the car. I had already taken seven jerry cans into the vehicle and was about to lift the eighth when the fire started.”
Police report
Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the Task Force, Friday Ibadin, said; “The vandals absconded when they realised that their game was up. But some of them were roasted to death.
“I must sincerely appreciate members of Imagabon community, who assisted the police in tracking down these suspects from where they had gone for treatment.
“I encourage other communities to do same in order to bring a permanent end to pipeline vandalisation.”
He informed that the police had taken the suspects to an undisclosed hospital, where they were currently undergoing treatment, adding that they would be arraigned in court as soon as their health stabilise.

American College Launches New Course: The 'Sociology Of Miley Cyrus'
A college in Saratoga Springs, NY is promoting a new sociology course entitled ‘The Sociology Of Miley Cyrus’. The class description says that the course uses Miley Cyrus as a lens through which students can explore themes about race, gender, and identity in the media.
The course literature states; ‘The current media frenzy focused on Miley Cyrus (her public image, her music, and more) highlights the ways in which intersectional identities are shaped by pop culture and mass media. In this special topics course, we will examine core issues of intersectionality theory, looking at the interplay among race, class, and gender, as well as taking a feminist critique of media and sociology of media approach to the Miley “problem.”’
The class will also cover a variety of topics including:
• The rise of the Disney Princess
• Gender stratification and the hyper-commodification of childhood
• Transitions to adulthood
• What happens to Disney stars as they age (see Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and more)
• Allies and appropriation
• Uses of culture across race, class, and gender
• Bisexuality, queerness, and the female body
There is also a course called 'Politicizing Beyonce' its basically a study about the R&B singer Mrs Beyonce Carter *wink* and it is studied in Rutgers University US.

David Beckham and Class of '92 stars 'to front £2bn takeover of Manchester United
![]() |
| (From left): Manchester United legends Ryan Giggs, Gary Neville, Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and David Beckham. |
David Beckham and other members of Manchester United's famous 'Class of '92' squad are poised to front a £2billion takeover of the club, it has been claimed. The takeover is believed to be funded by the oil-rich Qatari royal family and brokered by Beckham - who spent several months playing for Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain before retiring last season.
Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt are said to be in detailed talks to become the frontmen of a multi-billion consortium hoping to buy a 90 per cent stake in the club from Americans Joel and Avram Glazer, who purchased Manchester United in 2005.
The claims, made today, have not been confirmed by the former players and a spokesman for the club said it had not received any bids.
The club's underachievement this season has seen players past and present complain publicly about the way the club is performing.
Following the defeat to Manchester City, striker Wayne Rooney admitted that rivals are no longer afraid of coming to Old Trafford anymore because United are simply not good enough.
Rooney was left to reflect on another poor performance after admitting the team had lost their Old Trafford 'fear factor'.

Tragic: designer L'Wren Scott leaves entire $9M estate to Mick Jagger and cuts both her siblings out of her will
Mick Jagger's fashion designer girlfriend L'Wren Scott had left her entire $9million estate to the Rolling Stones rocker before taking her own life last week.
New York Post's Page Six reported Wednesday that Scott, whose remains were cremated Tuesday following a small, private funeral service in Los Angeles, left a simple will bequeathing all her jewelery, clothing, furniture, cars and other personal effects to 'Michael Phillip Jagger.'
![]() |
| According to her will, Mr Jagger will inherit Scott's $8million condo at 200 Eleventh Avenue, where the designer was found dead last week |
Born Luann Bambrough and raised by an adoptive Mormon family, Jagger's long-time partner left a small town in Utah at age 17 to build a career as a fashion designer and stylist.
Scott had been estranged from her sister, Jan Bambrough Shane, who ended up being entirely excluded from the will along with their brother, Randy.
Expect if otherwise
provided in this will, I have intentionally omitted to provide herein
for any other my heirs living at the date of my death,’ Scott wrote. Probate
documents obtained by the paper detailed that Miss Scott owned a condo
at 200 Eleventh Avenue in Manhattan worth $8million and another
$1million in 'tangible personal property and various other assets.'
Miss Scott also added in her final will and testament: 'I have never been married. I have no children.'
However, she later crossed out the word 'never' without providing a further explanation.
Scott and Jagger, 70, had been dating since 2001. The aging rock star was in Australia for a Rolling Stones tour when the designer killed herself.
At the time of her death, Miss Scott's fashion line was reportedly millions of dollars in debt.
Mr Jagger’s personal net worth is estimated to be around $305million.

Lady Gaga goes Gaga! and Wraps Herself in Foil!!
She'll stop at nothing to be the centre of attention. And on Monday Lady Gaga wrapped up her famous body in shiny layers of silver fabric to create an aesthetic that was somewhere between a toy astronaut and an unruly roll of tin foil. The singer - who turns 28 on March 28 wore her favorite long white wig as she greeted her doting fans outside a New York City building.
The messy layers of shimmering silver were wrapped in no particular order or sense around Gaga, reaching all the way around her shoes to encapsulate her body entirely - surely causing a serious sweat inside. Anyway she is not called 'Gaga' for nothing.....notice the eyebrows?
Help! I'm in Love With My Husbands Brother
I have a problem bothering me, and I hope you can help me. I am married and love my husband, but I have a crush on his brother. His brother is a Doctor and has a terrific body.
One weekend he came to the house to visit. He was there for two days. He is great with children. The Saturday evening he was in the yard playing football with the kids and took off his shirt. When I saw his body, especially his abs, I almost went crazy. I kept staring at him. He is very strong and sexy.
That night when I went to bed with my husband, I asked him why he can't look like his brother. He was surprised at what I asked him. He started to laugh and, in the morning when we woke up and were around the breakfast table, he told his brother that I was in love with his body.
His brother asked me then and there if it was true and I was embarrassed. I told him I saw him with his shirt off and I loved the way he looked, but there was nothing more to it.
However, every time I think of my husband's brother, I am tempted to call him. I don't know how he would react. He and my husband are very close, so he may tell his brother that I called, and I don't want that.
Making love with his brother
When I met my husband, he didn't have abs, but he was in good shape. Now, I can't get him to eat right. He eats a lot of junk food. He does not exercise. I can't get his brother out of my mind. I can't understand it because I have never thought of cheating on my husband. It is very bad because, even while making love with my husband, I am wondering how it would feel making love with his brother with those lovely abs and arms. I am not joking. I wonder how it would feel. I know what I am doing is not right.
One day he called the house to talk to his brother. He was not there, so we talked for a long while about everything, including his girlfriend. This time I fell in love with his voice. He is so intelligent. I was answering the phone in my bedroom. While I was talking to him, I started to fool around myself. He knew I was doing something because he heard me gasping for breath. He asked me what was going on and I told him nothing. He suspected what I was doing, so he hung up. Is this normal?
My husband and I have a good relationship, so why do I feel this way about his brother?

Malaysian Flight ended in the Indian Ocean - No sign of any Life
Relatives of passengers and crew have
been informed of the 'heartbreaking' news that Flight MH370 ended in the
southern Indian Ocean, the Malaysian Prime Minister has announced.
Najib Razak told a press conference new analysis by the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch and tracking firm Inmarsat indicated the flight ended in the southern Indian Ocean.
Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 vanished from civilian radar screens less than an hour after take-off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing with 239 people on board on March 8.
No confirmed sighting of the plane has been made since, but much debris has been found in remote waters off Australia which might be part of the missing plane.
According to Sky News, the families of the passengers on the missing plane are now due to be booked on to flights to take them to Australia.
Dressed in a black suit, Najib announced the news in a brief statement to reporters today, saying the information was based on an unprecedented analysis of satellite data from Inmarsat.
He said the data indicated the plane flew 'to a remote location, far from any possible landing sites'.
He said: 'It is therefore with deep sadness and regret that I must inform you that, according to this new data, Flight MH370 ended in the southern Indian Ocean.'
Selamat Omar, the father of a 29-year-old aviation engineer who was on the flight, said some members of families of other passengers broke down in tears at the news.
'We accept the news of the tragedy. It is fate,' Mr Selamat told the Associated Press in Kuala Lumpur.

Northern Public Secondary Schools Closed Indefinitely
The closure reportedly affects 85 secondary schools, catering to some 120,000 students across the troubled state, a stronghold of the militant sect waging a five year insurgency in Nigeria.
The murderous group, whose name means “Western education is sinful” in the Hausa language, has vowed to stop children attending school.
“We reported to school on Friday last week (March 14) but to our shock the principal of the school told us he had received orders from the ministry of education to close down the school indefinitely,” teacher Suleiman Gana said.
“He (the principal) told us the decision affects all public secondary schools in the state and was taken as a precautionary measure to safeguard lives of teachers and students from Boko Haram attacks,” Gana said.
A Borno state official confirmed the closure of the schools, speaking on condition of anonymity.
Deadly attacks blamed on Boko Haram have intensified since the turn of the year, with some 700 killed in more than 40 attacks in 2014 according to Human Rights Watch, making it one of the bloodiest years since the insurgency began in 2009.
In the restive northeast, tens of thousands have fled for their lives, either in fear of further attacks or after militants razed their homes and businesses.
A wave of attacks on education targets, including the slaughter of boarding school students in their beds while they slept, has prompted international condemnation.
